When we collect our measurement impulses into a PLC and connect to it with AVReporter, we require a device license for each of the "real" measurements point that this PLC collects. A technical example: We have a heat-flow sensor, and 2 Water flow sensor. They give impulses based on the flow, and we use these signals to determine the total flow after some time period. Let's say, that we ALSO calculate in the PLC how much energy our heat-flow represents for our system. In this case we need 3 device licenses, because we are reading out data from 3 measurement point, and the quantity number for a specific measurement point does not matter for licensing. Sidenote: please keep in mind, that currently AVReporter does not support real-time value displaying from OPC servers, only the logging of the data and then reporting it. License selection tool?
