Question: Is it possible to connect AVR to a gateway that only has Modbus RTU? It's a GSM gateway that can only be connected to the PC over an RS232 port. Answer: The GSM gateway with RS232 port usage is an obsoleted technology. AVReporter supports GPRS modem over Modbus TCP/IP protocol. GPRS communication is not to expensive and it works on higher speed than GSM.
